K. Aravamudhan has joined Star India in 2007 in the Corporate Communication team but later moved to the Regulatory Team in 2008, which is part of the larger legal team. This year he has completed 15 years in the company.
Mr Aravamudhanalso had brief stint in the Government of India for the period of 5 years from 1989 to 1993.Before joining Star, he was with Hindustan Times (Eyewitness and Home TV), SAB TV, UTV and ITV (then production houses producing news and current affairs shows) and Star News (MCCS).
His active engagement with the stakeholders (political executives, bureaucrats, regulators, industry veterans, key influencers and journalists) at various levels and forums help project Star India’s leadership team as “thought leaders” of the Indian M&E industry and thereby their first port of call. MrAravamudhan has actively participated many of the policy and regulatory initiatives undertaken by the Government of India both as part of Star India and industry associations.
My interaction with Aru as we all know him started from 2012 onwards when I took charge of the I&B Ministry and it continues till date! His passion and belief in the growth story of the Indian M&E industry in general and the broadcasting industry in particular is infectious. A person with deep knowledge & insight, strong belief in relationship building and nurturing of the same with trust and strong work ethics make him a go to GR professional for people like me. This has hugely helped build Star India as a trusted brand amongst the policy makers.
