Atindra Basu is the General Counsel and Company Secretary at Greaves Cotton Limited. His current responsibilities as an expert are in mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, licensing, compliance, corporate governance and shaping the external environment. He has strategized and advised the Company on litigation before the Supreme Court, High Court and other courts and tribunals.
He has held responsible positions in organisations including GSK, J&J, Marico, Abbott and Cipla with expertise in legal advisory and contract management, mergers and acquisition, litigation and dispute management, legal compliance and training.
Atindra has worked in a multi-cultural and transnational environment with an understanding of India and South East Asia regions with a sound functional knowledge on business, commercial and corporate laws with special strengths in managing joint ventures and closing transactions.
Soon after qualifying as a lawyer in 2001, he began his journey as an in-house counsel and has developed himself as a generalist in the last two decades through various senior leadership roles within the domains of Legal Advisory & Contract Management, Mergers & Acquisition, Board Governance, Litigation & Dispute Management, Legal Compliance & Training cutting across FMCG, Pharma, Engineering and EV Industry. He was chosen the Best In-House Counsel (2015-2016), nominated as the best In-House Legal Team in the Mid-Cap sector (2018-19) and nominated as the best In-House Legal Team in the Mid-Cap sector (2019-20).
