Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. advised Jupiter Electric Mobility Private Limited (JEM), a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons Limited (JWL), on the acquisition of the technology and business assets of Log 9 Materials Scientific Private Limited (LMSPL) for its Railway
Battery and Electric Truck Battery Divisions. The deal was signed on 30th October 2024. This acquisition marks a significant advancement in JEM’s mission to revolutionize the electric mobility landscape in India by expanding its portfolio with cutting-edge battery solutions tailored for both the electric truck segment and Indian Railways.
The Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. transaction team was led by Abhishek Guha, Partner; Mahesh Wasadikar, Partner; Yash Modi, Senior Associate; and Deesha Vyas, Associate, and was assisted by Hemant Krishna, Partner, and Dhruv Khanna, Associate. KPMG advised JWL on the tax aspects.
