Kirkland & Ellis LLP Welcomes Andrea Agathoklis Murino as Antitrust Partner
Andrea Murino has joined Kirkland & Ellis LLP as a partner in the Antitrust & Competition Group and will be based in the firm's Washington D.C. office
Earlier she was working with Goodwin Procter LLP, where she was co-chair of the Antitrust & Competition Practice. Previously, she was an attorney advisor to former FTC Chairman and Commissioner William Kovacic, and served as a counsel to two assistant attorney generals for antitrust at the Department of Justice.
Ms Murino has private and public sector experience securing clearances for proposed transactions before the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice, the US Federal Trade Commission, state attorneys general, and international competition law enforcement agencies.
According to Jon A. Ballis, Chairman of Kirkland's Executive Committee, "Andrea is a talented antitrust attorney and leader in the legal community with an impressive record representing clients in successful clearances for proposed transactions, merger litigation and other antitrust and competition matters. Her arrival bolsters our strong antitrust team and will help us continue to meet clients' needs for sophisticated competition counsel on their complex mergers and acquisitions."
Ms Murino has successfully represented hundreds of clients through all aspects of transaction-related investigations, including high-profile Second Requests and dozens of intensive public and non-public investigations. She also has experience representing clients in merger litigation, consumer protection matters and numerous other competition matters, including dominant firm conduct, competitor collaborations, and distribution practices.
