Khaitan & Co Advised Lead Managers In Vedanta's ₹8,500 Cr QIP
Khaitan & Co advised Citigroup Global Markets India Private Limited, JM Financial Limited and Nuvama Wealth Management Limited being the lead managers in relation to the Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) of Vedanta Limited of 19,31,81,818 equity shares of face value of INR 1 each at a price of INR 440 per Equity Share, including a premium of INR 439 per Equity Share, aggregating to INR 8,500 crores.
This was the first ever QIP undertaken by Vedanta Limited since its listing in 1982. It can be considered as the single largest ever equity raise through the QIP route in India’s metals and mining sector.
The QIP received an overwhelming response from global and domestic investors. Vedanta Limited is a big conglomerate with multiple businesses and subsidiaries forming a part of the group.
The core team at Khaitan & Co Consisted of Sudhir Bassi (Executive Director), Madhur Kohli (Partner), Vaibhav Mittal (Partner), Ritika Khare (Senior Associate), Kanchi Malhotra (Associate), Saisha Bacha (Associate), Bhavna Sancheti (Associate), Sairandhri Nawale (Associate) and Vanshika Singh (Associate) with Assistance from Mehul Shah on certain corporate matters.
