DLA Piper advises Mount Street
DLA Piper acted as the legal advisor for Mount Street in connection with a ten-year strategic agreement with Aviva Investors for asset servicing arrangements totaling GBP50 billion assets under management (AUM). Pursuant to this, Mount Street, together with HSBC, will assume all fund administration and debt servicing functions on behalf of Aviva Investors' Real Assets strategies.
Mount Street is a leading solutions provider to the investment community, delivering tailored products to investors and lenders participating in a full range of credit markets. With a global presence and currently servicing clients from offices in UK, Ireland, Europe, the US and Australia, Mount Street provides services throughout the loan lifecycle, with market leading expertise, a trusted team of professionals and a proprietary technology system driving its service excellence.
The agreement with Aviva Investors follows a competitive process. Mount Street and HSBC were selected on the basis of their combined service offerings, coupled with their global expertise in real assets credit and equity markets.
In addition to these service offerings, Aviva Investors will also be able to access a comprehensive, efficient and highly automated service across the spectrum of their liquid assets' alternative strategies, including structured debt, real estate and infrastructure.
Mount Street and HSBC's platforms facilitate further automation across a range of Aviva Investors' administrative workstreams – an invaluable offering as the need for greater transparency and more frequent, bespoke reporting increases. Led by technology, investors will have access to sophisticated digital workflow and reporting solutions, which is also connected to a consolidated data layer.
The DLA Piper team was comprised of Intellectual Property and Technology (IPT) lawyers Mark Rasdale (Partner), John Magee (Partner) and Elizabeth Sharkey (Senior Associate) alongside Liam Mills (Legal Director, Finance, Projects & Restructuring) in Ireland and Paul Gray (Client Relationship Partner, Finance, Projects & Restructuring), Helen Hall (Legal Director, Employment) and Rob Arnison (Consultant, Real Estate) in the UK.
