DLA Piper advised Epps Aviation in business acquisition by SAR Trilogy
DLA Piper advised Epps Aviation in business acquisition by SAR Trilogy
The combined venture will be rebranded as ‘Aero Center Epps Atlanta’
DLA Piper has advised Epps Aviation, a pioneer in the Georgia aviation sector, in closing its sale to SAR Trilogy Management.
Epps Aviation was founded in 1965 by Pat Epps and was owned and operated by the Epps family.
SAR Trilogy is an Orlando-based company investing in aviation, transport, logistics and travel businesses.
The newly-branded ‘Aero Center Epps Atlanta’s’ service offerings will include aircraft fuelling, parking and hangar storage, maintenance services, aircraft sales, aircraft management and charter. The acquired business has over 150 team members and a long-term lease with the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport.
Jay Tannon, the business attorney at DLA Piper remarked, “It was a privilege to support Epps Aviation in this important transaction for all constituencies and apply our extensive M&A capabilities to this transaction.”
The DLA Piper deal team was led by Jay Tannon (Washington, DC) and assisted by partners Saxby Chambliss (Atlanta), Gwen Keyes-Fleming (Atlanta), Jordan Bailowitz (Baltimore), Nate McKitterick (Palo Alto), Amy Carbins and Julia Kovacs (both Washington, DC), Jeffrey Salinger (New York), and James Bookhout (Dallas). It also comprised associates Alexis Elder (Short Hills), Dan Rosenberg and Emily Campo (both in Washington, DC).
William Blair & Co. served as the financial advisor to Epps Aviation.
