Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advises in relation to bulk trade of shares of BPCL
Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) acted as the legal counsel to Citigroup Global Markets India Private Limited (Citigroup), the Global Coordinator and Book Running Lead Manager, and ICICI Securities Limited and Kotak Mahindra Capital Company Limited, who were the Book Running Lead Managers (BRLMs) in relation to the block/bulk trade of equity shares of BPCL by BPCL Trust for Investment in Shares. This forms part of the larger process of disinvestment in BPCL by the Union government.
The Capital Markets Practice of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised Citigroup and the BRLMs on the Transaction. The Transaction Team was led by Gokul Rajan, Partner; with support from Aashima Johur, Principal Associate – Designate.
As part of the Transaction, BPCL Trust sold 126,033,090 equity shares of BPCL by way of share sales on the screen-based trading of BSE Limited (BSE) and National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) on March 9, 2021.
Other parties involved in the Transaction included Ashurst (International legal counsel to GCBRLM and BRLMs) and Khaitan & Co (Indian legal counsel to the BPCL Trust).
