Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas Advised Dairy Day On Kedaara Capital's Investment
Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas has played a crucial role as the legal counsel to Dairy Classic Ice Creams Pvt. Ltd. (Dairy Day), along with its promoters Mr. M. N. Jaganath and Mr. A. Balraju, and Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd's private equity arm (MOPE) for Kedaara Capital's strategic investment in Dairy Day.
Kedaara Capital, a prominent operationally oriented private equity firm focusing on control and minority investment opportunities in India, has announced its investment in Dairy Day, a leading ice cream brand in South India. The investment not only signifies Kedaara's support for Dairy Day's vision of becoming one of India’s most beloved ice cream brands but also facilitates a full exit for Motilal Oswal Private Equity and other Angel Investors, marking a significant milestone in Dairy Day's journey.
With Dairy Day headquartered in Bengaluru, the company has established a robust presence in multiple states including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Maharashtra, boasting a distribution network of over 50,000 retailers.
The expertise of the team from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas in navigating complex legal landscapes and facilitating strategic transactions was instrumental in this investment deal.
The transaction team, led by Nagavalli G (Partner) and Associates Mahima Goel, Jayant Belgaumkar, Varshini Prasad, and Sarvotham Naik, played a crucial role in its execution. Additionally, a team led by Bishen Jeswant (Partner) and Krithika Radhakrishnan (Principal Associate) advised on the employment-related aspects of the vendor legal due diligence for the transaction.
EY acted as the exclusive investment banker on this transaction.
