Australia's Commonwealth Bank Sought Advice from Herbert Smith Freehills on its A$1.777 billion offer for Perls Xv
Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) was advised by Herbert Smith Freehills on its offer of CommBank PERLS XV Capital Notes to raise approximately A$1.777 billion (with the ability to raise more or less) (Offer). The Offer was announced on 18 October 2022 and is CBA's fifteenth retail hybrid offering.

The Capital Markets Division of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia is responsible for arranging the Offer (CBA Markets). The joint lead managers include Westpac Institutional Bank, a division of Westpac Banking Corporation, CBA Markets, ANZ Securities Limited, Bell Potter Securities Limited, Morgans Financial Limited, National Australia Bank Limited, Ord Minnett Limited, Shaw and Partners Limited and UBS AG, Australia Branch.
Allens served as advisors to the arranger and joint lead managers.
This transaction, which comes after recent work on many important bank hybrid deals, is another illustration of Herbert Smith Freehills' industry-leading capital markets expertise.
