Atos gets Baker McKenzie advice on leading AI acquisition
The transaction is the latest example of the Baker McKenzie technology M&A team advising on large acquisitions
Atos, a global digital leader, received advice from global law firm Baker McKenzie on its acquisition of a leading Artificial Intelligence (AI) firm.
Atos has acquired Ipsotek, a leading AI-enhanced video analytics software provider. Atos, already a major player in Edge AI/ML and more specifically Edge Vision, will strategically reinforce its leading position in Edge and Computer Vision by adding key software capabilities and IP to its solutions portfolio following this acquisition.
Atos is the global leader in secure and decarbonized digital with a range of market-leading digital solutions along with consultancy services, digital security and decarbonization offerings; an end-to-end partnership approach. It operates in 71 countries.
"We are delighted to advise Atos on its acquisition of Ipsotek, and play a role in supporting their strategic vision for the business. The transaction is the latest example of the long-term partnership in supporting Atos across the EMEA region," David Hart, Corporate Partner at Baker McKenzie in London, who led the law firm's team, said. Hart was supported by Associates Claire Guthrie and Naomi Inns (all London).
Alongside the Ipsotek deal, the Baker McKenzie Corporate Team in Germany - led by M&A partner Florian Kästle in Frankfurt - advised Atos in parallel on the acquisition of cryptovision, a leading provider of advanced cryptography and secure digital identity solutions.
This transaction is the latest example of the Baker McKenzie technology M&A team advising on large acquisitions.
Baker McKenzie has advised Siemens, Tencent and Avanade in the past few months.
The Atos- Ipsotek deal was announced on 20 April 2021 and is anticipated to close in Q2 2021.
