Antares Legal acts on Flipkart's acquisition of B2B retail platform
Antares Legal acts on Flipkart's acquisition of B2B retail platform
It will give a fillip to the e-commerce giant's refurbishing business in the smartphone category
Flipkart Group, the one-stop shopping destination that has revolutionized the way purchasing is done in India, has acquired Yaantra (Gadgetwood E-Services Private Limited).
Yaantra is India's largest business-to-business retail platform for refurbished products. It repairs and sells revamped consumer technology products including smartphones and laptops.
This acquisition is set to enhance Flipkart's refurbishment business in the smartphone category and would provide an ecosystem that looks after the entire lifecycle of smartphones.
One of Asia's 30 fastest growing law firms, Antares Legal represented the promoters of Yaantra and the private equity fund manager Carpediem Capital Partners Fund in the deal. Carpedium is focused on the Indian consumption opportunity through investments in emerging small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Antares Legal team was led by Siddharth Bhavnani (partner). He was assisted by Surbhi Kothiala (principal associate), Devanjali Rastogi (senior associate) and associates Ayushi Berry, Charu Tripathi and Navya Mehrotra.
The partners who advised on other aspects of the transaction were Seher Ali and Surbhi Gupta.
