J Sagar Associates elects Sidharrth Shankar, Vikram Raghani, Dheeraj Nair, Aashit Shah and Farid Karachiwala as new practice chairs

They have been appointed in Gurugram, Mumbai and New Delhi offices

An Indian leading law firm J Sagar Associates has elected new practice chairs for each of its three-core practice groups - corporate, finance and disputes with effect from 1 April for a three-year term.

Sidharrth Shankar has been appointed to the corporate practice at Gurugram.

Vikram Raghani and Aashit Shah will overlook the finance practice and Farid Karachiwala the disputes practice at Mumbai.

Dheeraj Nair in the disputes practice will operate from the firm’s New Delhi office.

Commenting on the appointments, Amit Kapur and Vivek Chandy, the joint managing partners at the firm said, “We are delighted to welcome the new practice chairs and look forward to working closely with them to further build and expand the firm’s practice strength and key sector offerings.”

They added, “We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the current practice chairs Shivpriya Nanda and Sajai Singh for corporate|Dheeraj Nair (and Varghese Thomas, for the period before he took the executive committee member position) for disputes|and Aashit Shah for finance, for their sterling efforts in shaping and expanding our offerings across the practices and taking them to greater heights.”

Shankar, a 2001 graduate of Symbiosis Law University, Pune, has been associated with the firm for 19 years.

Raghani is a 2003 graduate of the Government Law College, Mumbai, and has been with JSA for over 19 years.

Nair is a 2000 graduate of the ILS Law College, Pune, and has worked with the firm for nearly 17 years.

Shah, a 2001 graduate of the Government Law College, Mumbai, holds an LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology. He has been with JSA for over 17 years.

Karachiwala, a 2000 graduate of the Government Law College, Mumbai has served JSA for over 4 years.
