CCI Approves Acquisition Of Actis Holdings By US Firm General Atlantic

The companies had entered an agreement early this year

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has cleared the proposal of General Atlantic (GA) the US-based private equity firm, to acquire a 100 percent stake in Actis Holdings.

Actis is a sustainable infrastructure investor that invests globally in energy infrastructure, digital infrastructure, real estate and private equity.

GAP Arthur Holdco LP is an affiliate of GA.

Early this year, GA and Actis announced the firms had entered an agreement under which GA would acquire Actis, creating a diversified, global investment platform with USD 96 billion in combined assets under management (AUM).

Under these terms, Actis becomes the sustainable infrastructure arm of GA's global investment platform.

The deals beyond a certain threshold require approval from the regulator. The CCI keeps a check on unfair business practices and promotes fair marketplace competition.
