Hemant Batra, a renowned business and corporate lawyer, has reportedly been appointed by Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM), India's top law firm, to spearhead their business growth and geographical expansion initiatives.

Batra, who previously founded a thriving transnational legal consultancy business and led a global knowledge initiative, brings his extensive experience to his new role at SAM.

It is understood that as the Lead - New Venture & Growth, Batra will collaborate closely with Pallavi and Shardul Shroff at SAM, focusing on expanding existing verticals and exploring fresh business opportunities for the firm. In addition, he will take charge of SAM's endeavours to venture into unexplored geographical territories, both within India and on the international stage.

Batra embarked on his legal career in 1991 at Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff & Co. After gaining valuable experience, he ventured into establishing his own law practice in 1996. Furthermore, he successfully established a legal and business consulting entity operating under a Swiss Verein structure. Hemant's professional engagements extend beyond his law practice, as he serves as the Vice-President of SAARCLAW and also takes on the role of a TV Host at Sansad TV.
