Akshay Jaitly set to re-join partnership at Trilegal

He had co-founded the firm in 2000 and retired in 2020

Akshay Jaitly, one of the co-founders of Trilegal, is re-joining the firm’s partnership. Instrumental in setting up the energy and infrastructure practice, he will be reinstated as an equity partner.

Jaitly established the firm along with Anand Prasad, Karan Singh, Rahul Matthan, and Sridhar Gorthi in 2000.

On retiring from the partnership, he moved to Paris. Trilegal is now in the process of voting to re-introduce Jaitly to the firm’s partnership.

On his decision to step down from Trilegal in 2020, Jaitly had stated, “For personal reasons, my family and I are moving to France shortly and I will be stepping down from the Trilegal partnership. It is hard to believe that 20 years have passed since we set up the firm at the turn of the millennium and no one could have asked for a more exciting and fulfilling career journey than I have been privileged to have had over the past two decades."

Sridhar Gorthi and Nishant Parikh, the partners, and members of the management committee at Trilegal remarked “We are thrilled to welcome Jaitly back to the firm. Meanwhile, Prasad had left the firm in 2016 for counsel practice. In 2019, he set up a specialist boutique firm AP & Partners, focusing on complex legal matters. Both Matthan and Singh had stepped down from Trilegal’s management committee.
