Tagansky District Court Of Moscow Fines Google And TikTok Over Banned Content
They failed to comply with the orders of the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor)
The Tagansky District Court of Moscow has fined Google of Alphabet and TikTok 5 million rubles ($58,038) and 4 million rubles, respectively, for failing to identify content similar to what they were ordered to remove earlier.
For several years, Russia has ordered foreign technology platforms to remove content that it considers illegal and issued small, but persistent fines for not complying.
The country has been particularly critical of Google for taking down YouTube channels of Russian media and public figures.
