Leading Japanese law firm Mori Hamada & Matsumoto has publicized establishing a presence in Yokohama, the second-largest city in the country.
In 2023, the Tokyo-headquartered firm launched an office in Sapporo, the northern business hub. It also has offices in Nagoya, Osaka, Takamatsu and Fukuoka.
The Yokohama office will be led by corporate governance and disputes partner Yuta Kawashima. Having joined the firm in 2007, he advises on shareholder relations, arbitration, mediation, alternative dispute resolution, M&A, reorganizations, venture capital and startups.
The branch will provide legal services to Japanese and foreign companies in disputes, M&A and other cross-border transactions, startups, business succession, crisis management, finance and restructuring.
