White & Case has fortified its global real estate and M&A offering by adding John Cahill as a Partner.
Splitting his time between Hong Kong and New York, Cahill specializes in advising borrowers, sponsors and institutional investors across Asia and the US on financing and M&A for real estate investments.
His concentration lies in the back-leverage market for real asset-focused funds and other investment vehicles. He also covers real estate-focused private capital participants across Asia.
Speaking on the development, Vivian Tsoi, the regional section head for Asia-Pacific M&A and corporate at White & Case remarked, “Cahill is an impactful addition to our global real estate platform and Asia offering. His international practice and experience in the back-leverage market further enhances our position as a leading adviser for sophisticated investors across the full spectrum of matters in the real estate sector.”
Earlier, he worked with Battle Fowler, which was acquired and combined with Paul Hastings. Cahill joined Paul Hastings in 2000, heading the US firm’s real estate finance practice group while serving as a partner in the real estate private equity practice.
