One of the top 25 US law firms, Paul Hastings has boosted its London investigations and litigation bench by hiring Stuart Alford KC and Oliver Browne.
Alford spent the first half of his career as a barrister specializing in national and international criminal law. He served as a prosecutor for the United Nations and was a legal adviser to the judges in the trial of Saddam Hussein, former president of Iraq.
He possesses striking credentials in the white-collar crime and investigations sphere. Alford was given the charge to lead the Serious Fraud Office’s banking fraud division for four years. In 2016, he joined Latham & Watkins.
Meanwhile, Browne served at Latham & Watkins for over 18 years. Prior to that, he was an associate with Allen & Overy. He became a partner in 2012 and chaired its London litigation and trial department for six years.
He advises companies and high-net-worth individuals undertaking cross-border arbitration and litigation.
