Malaysian Law Firm LAW Partnership Expands Dispute Resolution Practice With Key Hires

Malaysian law firm LAW Partnership has bolstered its dispute resolution practice with the addition of Partner Shaun Tan and Associate Rachel Tan, who join from RDS Partnership.

The new hires bring a wealth of experience in construction law and alternative dispute resolution (ADR), including arbitration, adjudication, and mediation.

Shaun Tan specializes in resolving construction disputes through various methods such as court proceedings and statutory adjudication. His portfolio includes large infrastructure projects such as utilities, refineries, power plants, and motorways. Shaun joined RDS in 2021 after gaining experience at the Myanmar offices of Singapore-based law firms Rajah & Tann and Allen & Gledhill. Earlier in his career, he worked at prominent Malaysian law firms Belden Advocates & Solicitors, Tan Swee Im, Siva & Partners, and James Monteiro.

Rachel Tan also focuses on construction disputes and arbitration, regularly serving as co-counsel in Malaysian courts, as well as in mediation and arbitration proceedings.

"We are thrilled to welcome Shaun and Rachel to our team," said Brian Law, managing partner of LAW Partnership. "Shaun's extensive experience in construction law and ADR makes him a valuable advisor for our clients."

With these strategic additions, the firm aims to strengthen its dispute resolution and arbitration capabilities, enhancing its service offerings across various sectors.

LAW Partnership, established in 2019, now boasts six partners, including corporate investigations specialist Ariff Firman, who joined the firm last year from Shahrul Hamidi & Haziq.

Meanwhile, RDS Partnership has recently seen the departure of three partners, including Co-Founder Ong Eu Jin, who has launched Ong Eu Jin Partnership, specializing in capital markets and mergers and acquisitions.
