Charles Russell Speechlys Strengthens Asia Presence With Top Talent In Singapore
Charles Russell Speechlys, a prominent global law firm, has significantly bolstered its expertise in its newly established Singapore office. The recent recruitment of a US-qualified international tax team and an Australia-admitted dispute resolution specialist underscores the firm’s commitment to providing top-tier legal services to clients worldwide.
The London-based firm has welcomed several accomplished professionals to its Singapore team including two partners, a legal director and a senior associate.
Kurt Rademacher and Ivan Lu, both seasoned attorneys, join as partners. They bring extensive experience in international tax matters and wealth transfer planning. Rademacher’s focus lies in advising ultra-high-net-worth families and family-controlled businesses on intricate US federal income, gift, and estate tax issues. Lu, too, specialises in US international tax law, assisting high net-worth individuals and families with estate planning. His expertise extends to IRS compliance and disclosure for clients in the Greater China region and Southeast Asia.
Timmoney Ng, a legal director, adds depth to the team. Ng’s background includes working at the US law firm Butler Snow, where he honed his skills in tax advisory services.
Hara Kee, a senior associate, complements the group. Kee’s experience aligns with the team’s focus on international tax matters.
Additionally, the Singapore office gains a valuable asset in Peter Brabant, an international arbitration and investigations partner. Brabant’s career trajectory spans from Australian law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth to his most recent role as counsel at King & Spalding. He has a long stint with Jones Day, spanning 11 years as an attorney-at-law. His expertise lies in advising companies across the energy, projects, construction, and financial services sectors. Brabant’s arrival enhances the firm’s capabilities in handling global disputes and investigations.
Brabant’s advisory scope extends beyond arbitration. He adeptly navigates a wide range of investigations, including those related to cross-border issues, internal matters, and external authorities. His guidance covers diverse areas, from corruption and cybersecurity to fraud and antitrust concerns.
Simon Ridpath, Managing Partner at Charles Russell Speechlys, expressed enthusiasm about the new additions: “The combined knowledge of our Firm and Private Capital that this tax advisory team brings will undoubtedly strengthen our position as a leader in the Asia market.”
Jeffrey Lee, Partner and Head of the Singapore Office echoed this sentiment: “The capabilities of this team align perfectly with our client-led strategy for Singapore. Their credibility and local market expertise will enhance our collaboration with clients.”
With these strategic hires, Charles Russell Speechlys continues to expand its footprint in Asia, reinforcing its commitment to delivering exceptional legal services across borders. It now has five partners in Singapore.
