Capital Markets Expert Jo Lit Joins Dubai's Ibrahim & Partners from Walkers

Jo Lit, a corporate lawyer from the international law firm Walkers, has recently transitioned from Hong Kong to Dubai to become a partner at the independent law firm Ibrahim & Partners.

In her new role, she will be leading the China desk and focusing on capital markets and mergers and acquisitions. With over 20 years of experience in these fields in Hong Kong and China, including more than two years as a partner at Walkers, Lit brings a wealth of expertise to her new position.

Throughout her career, Jo Lit has handled a diverse portfolio of prominent cross-border corporate transactions, including securities, financing, private equity investments, and mergers and acquisitions.

Lit's addition to Ibrahim & Partners as a partner will bolster the firm's already robust offerings in international equity capital markets and mergers and acquisitions, with a particular focus on expanding its presence in the Chinese market. Her extensive experience and expertise will enable the firm to further enhance and broaden its capabilities in these areas.

During her tenure as an offshore legal advisor, Lit provided counsel to numerous clients and successfully oversaw the listing processes for over 100 companies across Hong Kong, the US, and Taiwan since 2007.

Notable examples of her achievements include advising on the first dual primary listing in Hong Kong for Nasdaq-listed China video platform Bilibil, as well as facilitating the initial public offerings (IPOs) of investment firm ESR Cayman and biochemical company Ascletis Pharma in Hong Kong, among others.

Jo Lit has also played a crucial role in various cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions throughout her career. For instance, she represented the live-streaming platform DouYu in its merger with another platform Huya, which amounted to USD 10 billion. Additionally, she provided counsel to China Yangtze Power in its USD 3.59 billion acquisition of utility company Luz Del Sur in Peru. Lit's experience and expertise in handling complex cross-border M&A transactions will be a valuable asset to Ibrahim & Partners.
