Bird & Bird Expands Asia-Pacific Footprint with Renowned Hong Kong Capital Markets Lawyer
Bird & Bird has strengthened its corporate practice in the Asia-Pacific region with the strategic hire of David Cheng, a seasoned lawyer with close to nine years of experience.
This strategic move supports Bird & Bird's plan to expand its Greater China footprint, particularly in Hong Kong, a key financial hub.
Cheng, a specialist in IPOs, spin-offs, reverse takeovers, and privatisations, joins Bird & Bird from the now-closed Hong Kong office of Winston & Strawn. Having begun his career at DLA Piper as an associate for over four years, he rose through the ranks at Winston & Strawn, becoming a partner after serving as an of counsel for more than two years.
His valuable expertise is honed through notable transactions like advising Zhengwei Group Holdings on their Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing and assisting Karrie International Holdings in its subsidiary's separate listing.
This acquisition bolsters Bird & Bird's ability to serve clients throughout the region, offering them comprehensive legal counsel on capital markets transactions and beyond.
