Amit Sibal Takes Up Role as Associate Member at 3VB in London

Senior Advocate Amit Sibal has become an Associate Member of the London-based barristers' chambers 3 Verulam Buildings (3VB).

Following his graduation with a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Balliol College, Oxford University, and a BA in Law from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Sibal pursued further education, earning an LL.M. at Harvard Law School. He subsequently gained admission to the New York Bar and worked as a transactional lawyer specialising in banking, insolvency, and capital markets for six years. During this time, he practiced at the New York and Hong Kong offices of Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP.

In 2002, Sibal was admitted to the Indian Bar, and after 12 years of legal practice, he achieved the prestigious designation of Senior Advocate of the Delhi High Court, accomplishing this feat at the remarkable age of 39.

Sibal has built a substantial practice in the field of commercial and corporate disputes as well as international commercial arbitration. He holds a position on the International Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators with Sport Resolutions, which is a UK-based dispute resolution service for sports matters operating on a global scale.

I am very fortunate to be associated with 3VB, a set of highly accomplished and talented barristers based in London, leaders in international commercial arbitration, banking, finance and so many other fields, who bear their mantle lightly and with a profound sense of social responsibility. I look forward to the opportunity to be part of 3VB’s deep and growing engagement with India and to continue to develop the international dimension of my practice,” Sibal said in a statement.

David Quest KC, Joint Head of 3 Verulam Buildings (3VB), expressed his delight in welcoming Amit Sibal as an associate member of the chambers.

Amit is an outstanding lawyer with huge experience in the higher Indian courts and in international commercial arbitration, both as counsel and arbitrator. Asia, and India in particular, is a key market for 3VB and our association with Amit is a great opportunity to further develop that practice,” added.

Sibal joins Senior Advocate Gopal Subramanium as a fellow member of 3VB.
