Paul Hastings Advised Fisher Investments On $3 Billion Investment From Advent International And ADIA
Paul Hastings LLP advised Fisher Investments (FI) in a strategic investment by Advent International and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).
This investment, amounting to at least $2.5 billion and potentially reaching $3 billion, marks the first external infusion of capital into the firm, previously held entirely by family and employees.
Fisher Investments, a renowned global asset management firm overseeing over $275 billion for more than 150,000 clients worldwide, will continue to operate independently. The transaction aligns with Fisher's long-term estate planning, allowing FI to enhance its position as a privately held investment adviser and wealth management firm.
Investors in the Advent funds include Lunate Capital Limited, Mousse Partners, and FI's longstanding institutional client, South Korea's National Pension Service (NPS).
David Hearth, Investment Funds & Private Capital Partner, and Joe Swanson, M&A Partner, led the Paul Hastings team in advising Fisher Investments on this transaction.
J.P. Morgan Securities LLC and RBC Capital Markets acted as joint financial advisors for FI. Legal counsel for Advent was provided by Ropes & Gray, while Gibson Dunn served as legal advisor to ADIA.
