A&O and Linklaters Advised on JERA’s $1.7 Billion Acquisition of Parkwind’s Offshore Wind Farms
JERA, Japan’s largest power generation company, has received legal counsel from Allen & Overy in its acquisition of Parkwind, Belgium’s largest offshore wind platform, for 1.55 billion euros ($1.7 billion). The acquisition was managed by Linklaters on behalf of Parkwind.
JERA, Japan’s largest power generation company and a joint venture between Tokyo Electric Power and Chubu Electric Power, will acquire Belgium’s largest offshore wind platform, Parkwind, and add four offshore wind farms in Belgium and a new wind farm in Germany to its renewable energy portfolio.
The acquisition is part of JERA’s plan to increase its renewable power assets to 5 GW by March 2026, through a combination of new development and acquisitions.
