Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Transfer of Justice DK Singh from Allahabad High Court to Kerala High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended for transfer of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh of Allahabad High Court to Kerala High Court.

The Collegium resolution reads as under:

On 05 July 2023, the Collegium proposed transfer of Mr. Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh, Judge, High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, to the High Court of Kerala, for better administration of justice.”

However, having carefully gone through the request made by Justice Singh, the Collegium did not find any merit in the request made by him and therefore, it resolved to reiterate its recommendation dated 5 July 2023 to transfer him to the High Court of Kerala.

For the said purpose, the opinions of the Chief Justices of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad and the HighCourt of Kerala were sought in terms of the Memorandum of Procedure, and they conveyed their consent / no objection to the proposed transfer.

In terms of the Memorandum of Procedure, the Collegium also consulted one of the Judges of the Supreme Court who being conversant with the affairs of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad held a position to offer views on the proposed transfer.

He completed his graduation in Law from LL.B. (Allahabad University) and attained his LL.M. from Delhi University, in the year 1992. Thereafter, Justice Singh enrolled as an Advocate in the year 1993.

He practiced in Allahabad High Court till 1997, thereafter in Supreme Court from 1998 till the date of appointment mainly in Constitutional law, Administrative Law, Commercial Laws, Civil Laws, Taxation, Arbitration and Criminal Laws. He was appointed as an Additional Judge on 22 September, 2017.
