Justice Dipankar Datta, the judge of the Supreme Court, has been appointed the new chairperson of the 16-member National Court Management Systems Committee (NCMSC).
The committee was re-established by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud as per the mandate of the Scheme of National Court Management Systems.
The panel includes four high court judges - Justice Rajiv Shakdher (Delhi High Court), Justice A Muhamed Mustaque (Kerala High Court), Justice Joymala Bagchi (Calcutta High Court), and Justice Arun Bhansali (Rajasthan High Court).
Supreme Court lawyer K Parameshwar is the Chief Justice of India's nominee.
The expert members of the committee are Director Uday Salunkhe of the Welingkar Institute of Management and the Deputy Director General RS Mani of the National Informatics Centre.
While the Supreme Court Additional Registrar Vivek Saxena will serve as member secretary, other members are the registrar generals of the Gujarat, Orissa and Karnataka high courts.
The director of the National Judicial Academy and an expert statistician to be appointed by the Chief Statistician of India, are among the other members.
The Supreme Court's secretary general, and a joint secretary of the Department of Justice, who is also the Director of the National Mission for Justice Delivery & Legal Reforms, will be the committee’s ex-officio members.
