On Tuesday, the Central government approved the permanent appointment of four additional judges to the Calcutta High Court.
Arjun Ram Meghwal, the Union Minister of State with independent charge of the Law and Justice Ministry, announced this development on the social media platform X (Twitter).
The newly appointed permanent judges from the additional judges' roster include Justice Ananya Bandyopadhyay, Justice Rai Chattopadhyay, Justice Shampa Dutt (Paul), and Justice Raja Basu Chowdhury.
On January 18, the Supreme Court collegium recommended the permanent appointment of the four additional judges.
