Centre Notifies Appointment of Two Additional Judges as Permanent Judges of Bombay High Court
The Central Government has notified appointment of two Additional Judges namely, Justice Anil Pansare and Justice Sandipkumar More as Permanent Judges of the Bombay High Court.
Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal announced their appointment via Twitter.
Previously, the Supreme Court Collegium comprising of Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud and Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Sanjiv Khanna had recommended their names.
Moreover, the Bombay High Court Collegium unanimously recommended the two Additional Judges for permanent appointment on 12 April, 2023. The Chief Ministers and Governors of Maharashtra and Goa also concurred with this recommendation.
As per the Collegium’s Memorandum of Procedure, Supreme Court Judges familiar with the functioning of the Bombay High Court were consulted to assess the suitability of the nominated Judges.
Thereafter, upon evaluation of the material on record, the Collegium concluded that both Justice Pansare and Justice More are fit and suitable for appointment as Permanent Judges of the Bombay High Court, against the existing vacancies.
