Herbert Smith Freehills,
a leading international law firm, has advised Cool Japan Fund, Inc. (CJF) on its investment in the UK-based Inside Travel Group, alongside Piper Private Equity LLP, a private equity firm based in the UK.

Inside Travel, the UK’s leading Japan travel specialist, will leverage CJF’s investment to expand its reach and cater to high-end travelers visiting Japan from the UK, US, and Australia. The company’s origins trace back to the founders' graduation trip to Japan in the 1990s, and over the past 20 years, they have turned their passion for Japan and Asia into a successful tour operation.

Established in 2013, CJF manages assets worth US$1.4 billion across various sectors, including food, clothing, housewares, leisure, local and traditional products, education, and tourism. The public-private fund was set up to promote overseas demand for products and services reflecting the unique aspects of Japanese culture and lifestyle.
