This transaction is Blackstone’s first substantive foray into the residential real estate sector in India.
Blackstone was advised by Khaitan & Co in relation to the acquisition of 40% stake and joint control in Kolte-Patil Developers Limited. BREP Asia III India Holding Co VII Pte Ltd acquired shares through preferential allotment by Kolte-Patil Developers, a mandatory open offer and secondary purchase from existing promoters. A leading real estate company, Kolte-Patil Developers has a strong presence in the Pune residential market and growing presence in Bengaluru and Mumbai. This is Blackstone’s first significant foray into the residential real estate sector in India.
